Tiger Shark Tooth Galeocerdo contortus

Galeocerdo contortus  (Gibbes 1848)
From the Miocene period.
Collected from Venice, Florida,USA.
A super nice Tiger shark tooth with clean cut edges and a beautiful grey colour,
Tiger sharks also known from the Greek Fox shark, is a large predatory shark with a blunt nose,named due to the dark patterning along the Dorsal area,which fade as the animal reaches maturity.
The tooth is loose from matrix and measures 15mm x 14mm
And comes in a clear fronted display box.

Please Be advised, the specimen has been attached onto the white tray of the display box, with Blu-tac,removing it from the display case may damage the back of the specimen as it may be fragile!
This has been done to ensure the specimen is safe and secure for display and during transport.
