From the Middle Devonian ,Eifelian stage ,Sandwick fish bed.
Collected from Tronston,Orkney ,Scotland.
Nicely detailed bony fish from the Rhipidistan group,the scales are preserved in beautiful shiny black.
There are lots of partials available, but specimens as good as this tend to be a lot pricier, however i purchased this for a good price, and so am able to pass the saving on!
The fish measures 112mm and the whole slab including matrix is 152mm x 99mm.
