From the Cretaceous, Cenomain/Turonian.
Collected from Hgula in Lebanon.
Superb Teleost (Ray finned) fish occurring at the border of both the Cenomainain and Turonian stages
This species has a dorsal spine in maturity, suggesting this one is either juvenile, or the fish was predated upon after its death!
Difficult to obtain material from Lebanon these days
The fish measures 40mm, and with the matrix 85.4mm x 64.6mm.
