Collected from South Dakota,USA.
Very nice articulating joint end from the femur head limb bone of this 35 million year old, weird early pig like animal,often called Ruminating hogs..
This species was herd like, and would have lived very much like the modern day animals on the plains, keeping close to a water and food source.With short stout legs they would have been unlikely to move at any speed.
The specimen is loose from matrix and measures 24mm x 20mm.
