Corynella foraminosa large Cretaceous sponge

Corynella foraminosa (Goldfuss)
From the Cretaceous,Aptian stage .
Collected from Faringdon, Oxfordshire,England.
Wonderfully preserved, and well detailed Knobbly sponge from the famous Faringdon sponge gravels
This one was discovered in the lower greensand formation at the infamous Wicklesham pit.
The specimen display the typical radial excurrent canal ,Nice reef building organism loose from matrix and measuring 57mm x 28mm.
